Dr. Yair Saar is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Biotav Shield Ltd, where he leads the company’s mission to deliver scientific breakthroughs that can transform patient health. His leadership focuses on advancing innovative technologies, accelerating drug development, and building a science-driven organization dedicated to improving global healthcare.
With more than 30 years of experience in vaccinology and biotechnology, Dr. Saar has led international collaborations and business development across multiple markets, including China and Austria. His global perspective has strengthened his understanding of healthcare systems, patient needs, and the importance of innovation in modern medicine.
Since becoming CEO in 2012, Dr. Saar has accelerated Biotav Shield’s transformation into a research-focused biotechnology company by expanding R&D investment, advancing new technologies, and fostering a culture built on courage, excellence, equity, and innovation.
Under his leadership, the company is developing a strong pipeline of oncovirology and immunotherapy solutions aimed at transforming cancer care and other major diseases. Biotav Shield is also integrating cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence to enhance drug discovery, clinical development, and manufacturing.
Dr. Saar holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
